The Physics Department of Gurucharan University erstwhile Gurucharan College was established in the year 1949 as a part of the ‘Arun Kumar Chanda Science Section’. In persuasion of the introduction of the Higher education in the collegiate framework, the B.Sc (pass) course in Physics was introduced in 1954 which was upgraded to Honours standard in 1962. The Department of Physics at Gurucharan University is committed to promote excellence in teaching, learning, and research in the field of physical sciences.
