Dr. Indira Dey completed her HSLC in 1988 from SEBA and Higher Secondary education in 1990 from AHEC. She earned her B.Sc. with Honours in Physics from Gauhati University in 1993, followed by an M.Sc. in Physics from Gauhati University in 1996. She completed her M.Phil in Physics from Assam University, Silchar in 2002, and was awarded a Ph.D. in Physics from Assam University, Silchar in 2009. Dr. Dey began her academic career as a teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya, AFS Kumbhirgram, and later served at Cachar College, Silchar and S S College, Hailakandi. She is currently serving as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at Gurucharan University, Silchar. Her research interests span Solid State Physics, Astrophysics, and Computational Physics. She has published peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as Astronomy & Astrophysics and Resonance. In addition to research, Dr. Dey is actively involved in teaching, guiding, and mentoring undergraduate students.
